The team offers a wide range of specialist expertise in public transport, travel planning, sustainable transport choices, integrated transport, project management, inward investment, place marketing, marketing, event management and financial management. Our experience includes working with employers, transport providers, local authorities and consultancy-based transportation teams across the public, private and 3rd sectors.
Robin Pointon
Robin has worked in senior positions within public transport, inward investment and place marketing organisations; experiencing life in public, private and the 3rd sectors. He brings a range of knowledge and skills, internal and external, to transport focused on adding value to the outcomes of programmes. He founded GO Travel Solutions in 2008, seeking to bring a rounded and pragmatic approach to delivering sustainable transport solutions for employers, public sector organisations and transport providers.
Robin’s a proud Yorkshireman, a person who tries to be true to his Christian faith and has a passion for the mighty Bantams aka Bradford City football team. He is married to Lorraine and has one son, Sam Pointon (now ex-Director of Fun at the National Railway Museum), and two daughters, Molly and Grace.

Cliff Jones
Cliff has more than 20 years’ experience in the fields of travel planning, SMARTER sustainable transport choices and integrated transport, working within a number of local highway authorities and consultancy based transportation teams. He is a skilled project manager, offering excellent client liaison with high professional standards and a passion for sustainable transport.
Outside interests include: cycling, film and cinema, reading, writing and collecting vintage comic books.

John Keenan
Using best practice in project management, John focuses on enhancing the impact of the company's sustainable transport projects for customers and partners nationwide.
John is married with two daughters. He is a rugby union fan and is a season ticket holder at Leicester Tigers. He also enjoys playing basketball, trips to the cinema, reading and keeping fit.

Ian Murdey
Ian focuses on developing and delivering sustainable travel programmes for private, public and 3rd sector organisations in the UK. He also helps the company to develop its services to meet the travel planning requirements of higher and further education providers.
Prior to joining GO Travel Solutions, Ian Murdey was the Transport Co-ordinator at De Montfort University for almost 10 years. Whilst in post, he helped the University to achieve major decreases in single occupancy car usage, as well as increasing the number of staff cyclists to almost four times the national average.
In his spare time, Ian is a keen distance runner, ranging from park runs up to marathons and ultra-marathons. He’s waiting for the day when his children start to catch him up!

Phil Saunders
Phil has responsibility for developing business engagement through SmartGO, Local Sustainable Transport Fund programmes and new private sector projects. Within SmartGO he focuses on increasing the numbers of employers and staff signing up as members of travel networks across the country, including Leicester, Hinckley, Stevenage and Milton Keynes, using the benefits, discounts and promotions offered by SmartGO.
Phil is a keen triathlete who trains throughout the year and competes in various races during the season. He is a supporter of Leicester City Football Club and enjoys most sports. In his younger, more carefree days, he got his kicks from skydiving!

Becky Watson
Becky joins GO Travel Solutions bringing with her 6 years of marketing experience, and is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and communications for GO Travel Solutions, including SmartGO and LocalGO sustainable transport incentive packages.
A keen marketer by day, and acrylic artist by night, Becky thoroughly enjoys painting nature’s scenery in her spare time. If you see her at an art fayre near you, be sure to say hello!
Tara Clark
Tara is based in Stevenage, focusing on developing and delivering sustainable travel programmes for the County. This includes SmartGO Maylands, The Maylands Workplace Parking Levy Feasibility Study and the Hertfordshire County Council Travel Plan.
Over the past 17 years she has been working across Hertfordshire for both public and private sector organisations focusing on Economic and Business Development as well as Inward Investment. She also ran a company on behalf of 5 organisations, with over 500 members, which aimed to promote and support sustainable practices in the county.
In her spare time, Tara is a keen artist and horse rider. Most of all, she loves spending time with her family, including her daughter, Sammy.

Emma Ahmed
Emma is the LocalGO Ambassador for New Lubbesthorpe Sustainable Urban Extension in Leicestershire.
Originally from Hartlepool in the Northeast, Emma is now living as a resident New Lubbesthorpe and is using her local knowledge to build positive relationships with the residents of this new and thriving community. Emma is also a trained SEN teacher and maths tutor – talk about having a finger in every Pi!
As a self-confessed foodie, you can find Emma at Boo Burger in her spare time or enjoying a lovely stroll with her son.
Lorraine Pointon
As a Non-Executive Director at GO Travel Solutions, Lorraine brings a practical commitment to sustainable living and skills gained as a social enterprise manager.
Lorraine's 'day job' is being the manager of Hopscotch Playgroup. This Leicester-based social enterprise has now been trading successfully for over seven years, securing a range of grants and employing five people.
She has a passion for cooking and creating using fabrics, is a Brownie Guider and a governor of a local infant school.
