Brackley Local Bus Study
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Brackley Local Bus Study in May 2024. Your feedback, comments and suggestions have helped us better understand local bus needs across the area.
Since the study took place, work has been ongoing to review the feedback received and identify opportunities to improve local bus services. Below is an update on the progress made so far and the changes that have been introduced in your area.
The study was led by West Northamptonshire Council, coordinated by GO Travel Solutions and funded by the UK Government.

1. More bus options between towns
Bus services 88 and X88 between Brackley, Silverstone, Towcester, and Northampton have been improved. Example: there were x2 journeys per Mon-Sat Brackley – Northampton. There are now 14.
Bus services B1 and B2 between Brackley and Buckingham now provide more journey options.
2. Strengthened village connections
Evenley and Syresham now have bus services where there were none before.
Evenley: linked to Buckingham and Brackley
Syresham: linked to Northampton, Towcester, and Brackley
Other villages along the A43 corridor also benefit from improved bus services.

3. Brackley Interchange
Plans are being explored to create ‘mobility hubs’ across the region, to make bus travel easier. Discussions are ongoing with transport partners.
4. Active travel links
Discussions took place last year with the Brackley Town Centre Manager about helping to increase footfall in the town centre from local buses and locality. In addition, there is a Local Cycle and Walking Infrastructure Plan being developed for Brackley.
5. School travel
Work is ongoing to make the most of buses and coaches used for school transport.
This ensures future planning considers local bus services for students wherever possible.

6. Keeping you informed
New maps and timetables for Brackley buses are now available:
